Reliable may be an adjective that most fashionistas would consider negative, when used to describe a fashion brand. But that is what Dries Van Noten is, and I like that there aren’t many surprises. You know you are going to get some beautiful coats, some odd colour combinations, a weird and perhaps borderline ugly print, and the general feeling that no one is trying too hard here. And this is one of those brands that I want to be wearing head to toe when I am over 40. Not only because I think his clothing is the perfect over-40 wardrobe, but also because I doubt I’ll be able to afford head to toe Dries until I am 40. Until then, I’ll just satisfy myself by buying the shoes.
